Artist Bio:

Chris Ahman is a 22-year-old visual artist based in Chicago, where he is pursuing his BFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His artistic practice primarily centers on photography and printmaking, reflecting his ongoing interest in the relationship between natural light and the man-made structures that define the city’s landscape.

What began as a way to document his paintings and drawings soon evolved into a deep passion for image-making, especially within the streets of Chicago. Drawn to the spontaneity and fleeting nature of street photography, Ahman captures moments of everyday life, from the interactions of people and families to the subtle details of the urban environment.

In his print media practice, Ahman explores the process of reproducing his street images through CMYK screen printing, translating the immediacy of photography into tactile, layered works. Across both mediums, his goal is to share the beauty he observes in the world and invite viewers to slow down, look closer, and find inspiration in the ordinary.
